We are thrilled to be starting work on OUTing the Past 2019!
It seems it was only yesterday we were flying ’round the country learning about our LGBT past in stunning venues from engaging presenters with avid audiences.
The festival is well documented on this site and you can explore some intriguing histories.
We are now launching our invites to potential hubs around the country and exploring some venues in the Nordic countries, as well as Ireland – it is exciting that so many prestigious venues are keen to host OUTing the Past and spread the LGBT stories that we have been so starved of!
I am hoping that we will be able to use some of the work we are uncovering to produce lesson plans for schools, so if there are any teachers out there interested, do contact me and also consider bringing students to the events as they are in accessible places to all.
We will also be sending out the call for presentations soon, so if you have a story of a campaign you were involved in, have LGBT memorabilia and a story to go with it, have been discovering a local LGBT person, to even seen something in a museum that triggered you to research its LGBT links, we would love to hear from you.
We will be looking for a presentation that lasts about 20 minutes backed by evidence, more info to come on this.
So in the meantime make sure that you are keeping February 19 to discover our amazing LGBT heritage and check back here to see where we will be – keep an eye on this website the LGBT History Month facebook and our twitter feed!
